SOUVENIR SERIES
Memories are usually multimedia: They contain pictorial elements, scenes that play out like in a film, noises, timbres, often smells and, above all, feelings. They come from sequential long-term memory and episodic memory, where they are contained in a compressed form and must be processed for activation. Depending on the type of memory, this can be with almost photographic clarity, or one can only remember vaguely.
This series is based on leftovers from women and men of different social and cultural backgrounds. I worked with objects, clothes to create a larger than live monument of beloved daily objects, feelings, odeurs and all sensual memories.
